Most Romantic Cities For Honeymoons Part II

Either you’re looking for a place to honeymoon, or want to share your honeymoon experience, or maybe you just really liked part 1 of the blog, but you’re back so here are some more of our favourite places to have a romantic honeymoon!

Have you ever considered New York City for your honeymoon? It has been a popular location for many couples! While you might stop into the busy Times Square for a little while, the more romantic idea is to take a walk from Manhattan into Brooklyn. Stroll along the Brooklyn Bridge, stop at Grimaldi's for pizza, and then walk along the promenade for breathtaking views!

Another favourite is San Francisco. Walk arm in arm along the coast line getting great views of the bridge! If watching the sunset together is up your alley, then hop on a catamaran and sail the sea with the golden rays of the sunset resting on the water! Many of these trips include cocktails and d’oeuvres to add to the romance!

We’re sure you’ve heard the wine is great in Napa Valley so why not take your honeymoon to a winery. Enjoy a tasting and tour of some of the worlds’ best wineries or take a picnic tour on a winery estate!

One of our final favourite honeymoon destinations is Barcelona. Although this is one destination that is far from relaxing, it offers so much history and excitement that you are sure to love every component to the trip! Take a walk down Las Ramblas to see nonstop action, or take a cruise along the shoreline and see the sights from the water!

Most Romantic Cities For Honeymoons Part I

With plenty of different people coming into Davidson & Co each day we are fortunate to hear lots of romantic engagement stories, wedding stories, and honeymoon stories. Because we are constantly hearing ideas and romantic trips, we thought that we would share a list of the top ten places to have a honeymoon, based on what we hear from our customers!

Keep in mind, these are all based on preferences, while some couples enjoy sitting, reading and having a glass of wine, others enjoy sky diving, tourist packed sites and risky restaurants! We’ve simply compiled a list of some of the places we are constantly hearing great things about!

Not surprising that Paris is the number one place to honeymoon. After all, it is the city of love! While here we recommend you walk about the Seine River and soak in the views along the banks. Also, take a tour to the cathedral Notre Dame, and don’t forget to watch the lights of the Eiffel Tower at night!

Another popular choice for honeymooners is Venice. What says romance better than a quiet, moonlit gondola ride? Aside from taking a gondola ride the beauty of Venice is simply getting lost in the city, and stopping for a glass of wine at the local wine bars along the way!

JCK Las Vegas Show

Although our last post was also about a show in Las Vegas, we believe that everyone in Calgary can stand to imagine themselves in a warmer climate, even if it’s just while reading this post! So let us continue with details about our recent attendance at the JCK Las Vegas Jewellery and Gem Show this past weekend!

While we were in Vegas visiting the below mentioned COUTURE Show, we also visited the JCK show.  This show took place at the Mandalay Bay and Convention Centre.  Similarly to the COUTURE show, we were visiting this show as a potential buyer to find the best of the best for our clients in Calgary. The AGTA GemFair at JCK and the equipment, technology, and supplies at JCK extended their dates to also have open hours through until Tuesday June 6^th. The overwhelming attendance of thousands of people at this event was well received by the jewellers that came from around the world for the 20^th annual show

JCK Las Vegas celebrates the industry's most innovative retailers for their excellence in merchandising, selling and display of designer jewellery. Many awards were awarded to some of the best designers around the world. Over 200 exhibitors were proud to set up their booths and offer a large selection of coloured gemstones, pearls and coloured gemstone jewellery.  Color trends are defined at the AGTA GemFair™ and were definitely worth looking for in our hopes to buy some of the most current color trends available. It’s always interesting to see looks, colors, and designs that are being brought in from countries like Brazil, Italy, and India.

Overall the show gave us great insight into new trends in jewellery that we can bring back and apply to the custom jewellery designs we are creating for our Calgary clients.

COUTURE

Couture, is an annual event for upscale retailers, designers, and manufacturers of fine jewellery and time pieces. Davidson was honoured with an invite to this prestigious and exclusive show at the Wynn in Las Vegas this past weekend.

At Davidson & Co we strive to have the latest designs, and the best diamonds and gems available for our customers. Through our attendance at shows like Couture we discover the latest trends from around the world and get to see a level of jewellery that is unsurpassed from the point of view of a buyer. Our attendance at the show this year proved extremely beneficial. With a 15% growth in exhibitors from last year, and over 90% of exhibitors choosing to present their lines exclusively at Couture, we are confident that we are dealing only with the best in the industry.

Aside from the amazing quality of exhibitors the event was a perfect balance of luxury and quality. Also, we had a lot of fun meeting all of the world’s best in the jewellery industry!
