Return Policy
Custom Jewellery Returns & Cancellation Policy
At Davidson Jewels, I design and create custom jewellery through an ongoing consultation with each client. Your piece is made specifically for you, reflecting the design, materials, measurements, and details we agree upon together.
I do not make custom commissions for off-the-shelf resale. Each project involves dedicated design time, skilled labour, and materials purchased or committed specifically for your piece.
Custom commissions are final sale.
Custom-designed, made-to-order, personalized, and redesigned jewellery cannot be returned or exchanged because of a change of mind, personal preference, or circumstances.
This includes a decision not to proceed with a proposal, wedding, gift, or other occasion for which the piece was commissioned.
Subject to your rights under applicable law, a completed piece that meets the agreed specifications remains payable in full, even if you decide you no longer want it.
Your involvement and approval
Throughout the design process, you have opportunities to review your piece and discuss adjustments. Depending on the commission, this may include sketches, CAD images, material selections, and a physical resin prototype.
Before production begins, I ask you to approve the final design and agreed specifications. Please raise any questions or requested changes before giving that approval.
Approval authorizes me to proceed with the agreed work and commit the necessary time and materials.
Deposits and cancellation before completion
Your written quotation or commission agreement will explain the deposit and payment schedule before you commit.
If you wish to cancel a commission, please notify me in writing as soon as possible. Where cancellation is accepted, payments already made will be applied against:
-
Design, CAD, prototyping, and other authorized work already completed.
-
Materials, diamonds, or gemstones purchased specifically for your commission that cannot reasonably be returned or reused.
-
Casting, setting, engraving, and other production costs already incurred.
-
Non-cancellable supplier commitments made with your authorization.
Any cancellation charges will reflect the work performed and reasonable, unrecoverable costs, allowing for refunds or recoverable material value and without double charging. I will provide an itemized accounting. Any remaining refundable balance will be returned; any additional amount properly payable under your commission agreement will remain due.
A change of mind does not create an entitlement to a full refund of a deposit or progress payment once authorized work or purchasing has begun.
Changes after approval
Changes requested after design approval may require additional design work, materials, or remaking part or all of the piece.
I will explain any additional charges and revised completion timing before proceeding with the requested changes. Some changes may no longer be practical once production has started.
Workmanship and the agreed design
I stand behind my workmanship. If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing defect or does not match the agreed specifications, please contact me promptly so I can assess the concern and arrange an appropriate resolution.
The final-sale policy for changes of mind does not remove your rights regarding defective goods or work that does not meet the agreed specifications. My workmanship warranty applies separately.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits any cancellation right, refund entitlement, warranty, or other protection that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Questions before commissioning
Please discuss any concerns with me before authorizing your commission. My aim is for you to understand the design, cost, and process clearly before work begins.
